Title: Microsoft Unveils New Xbox 360 Console and Game Bundles for the Festive Season, with Exclusive Blue and Kinect Versions

Microsoft is heralding the ninth holiday season of its popular Xbox 360 gaming console with captivating new offerings. Two limited edition bundles, including one sporting an attractive blue hue exclusive at Walmart, are set to make waves in the gaming market.

Renowned for their strategic product launches, [Microsoft](https://www.microsoft.com) might appear to be taking an unexpected route by focusing their efforts on their older console. The Xbox 360 saw its successor, the Xbox One, take center stage last year, leading to a dip in sales as consumers gravitated towards the next-generation option. It was thought that Microsoft would discard the Xbox 360, much like they did with the original Xbox upon the release of the 360 in 2005.

So, what’s spurring Microsoft’s determination to breathe new life into the Xbox 360 sphere? The answer could simply be: profitability.

Since the Xbox One’s launch last November, Microsoft has retailed over [5 million units globally](http://www.cnet.com/news/microsoft-xbox-one-totals-5-million-units-sold-to-retailers-worldwide/). However, Sony’s PlayStation 4 has doubled this feat, shipping over [10 million units worldwide](http://www.cnet.com/news/sony-playstation-4-sold-10-million-units-worldwide/). Crafted with more cost-effective components, the Xbox 360 is cheaper to produce than its newer counterpart, offering significant profit potential for the company. It seems Microsoft wants to leverage this before the Xbox 360 fades into obscurity.

Microsoft’s commitment to the Xbox 360 remains unabated. “The Xbox 360 continues to be an important part of our Xbox portfolio, offering an amazing gaming experience and high-quality entertainment,” an Xbox spokesperson noted, adding that they were thrilled to unveil more offerings and price points for fans this holiday season.

In addition to the exclusive Walmart blue Xbox 360 bundle, Microsoft introduced a standard black console Holiday Value bundle. For just $249, consumers can secure not only the console but also both Call of Duty games and one month of Xbox Live Gold at no extra cost.

In partnership with Target, Microsoft also revealed its 4GB Xbox 360 Kinect Bundle, packed with Kinect Adventures, Kinect Sports, and Forza Horizon, as well as an Xbox Live Gold membership, all for $249.

Both bundles are set to arrive just in time for the holiday season, with “many” of the bundles becoming available beyond U.S. borders.

There’s no doubt that Microsoft is aiming to rekindle excitement for the Xbox 360 this holiday season with these enticing offerings.
