Can you imagine a few people fighting in a group of over 1 million people on Facebook and how hard it will be for the administrators to calm things down? Well, Facebook is working on an Artificial intelligence to help out with that.

Although, it seems like a tough ask but many new innovations have been springing up and that says a lot about the influence of technology. Facebook made the announcement in a post shared on it blog and said they are pushing out a number of software tools to help the over 50million people who are on the platform and also moderate on it.

Facebook with over 2 billion users all around the world gave out the number of people who uses its group some couple of months ago and this it says has grown so large. You can imagine how this number will grow with time. Hence, there is a need to look at the problems faced with the different groups on the platform.

There are a lot of things that could be done on the social media space and technology has made it even easier for everyone. It is also pertinent to know that this is going to undergo a lot of testing as this is the first phase of the whole testing period. It is not known yet whether all administrators will be allowed to test this.

The AI is expected to send out what they call “Conflict Alert” to those who are in charge of these groups. It will determine if a particular conversation is unhealthy or contentious. This is a big work for those at Facebook and it is expected that the AI algorithm might face some problems at the beginning.

It is going to be more of getting it right at the beginning and se how it goes in the long run. Although, there has been a lot of improvement to the old Facebook we know as many features have been included in recent time. One of those is the embedding of the messenger in the app which has now leave out the stress of having to do with the messenger separately.

There will be more features later on and we are sure that the improvement of the app is paramount to the team at the Headquarter. This particular feature is even here to help fight the issue of harassment and hate speech which is now the order of the day.

While releasing this, they also dropped their quarterly report and added that there’s been a lot of bullying and harassment content on the platform. This report is in line with their policy on transparency and how they want to have a control over the spate of cyber bullying and harassment.

The issue of harassment on the platform didn’t start today as it has been more of a recurring issue every now and then. More features will still come in to help curb it with time. The negative effect of social media on the people has masked some of it importance and that will continue to spark even more debate on the best way to handle it. We are at a stage where countries are also trying to fight off the usage of social media due to how they perceive it and many more Government are trying to crack down on it due to more criticism they get from there.

If these measures from the Government of these countries will be enough is not a known fact yet but there is every certainty that things will have to change in order to control this issues and the team at Facebook are also trying their possible best in order to ensure that there is a better control.
