YouTube just added a new feature to its Android and iOS mobile app, the feature supports a bigger and wider display with the 18:9 aspect ratio.

Easier last week, Oneplus 5T was launched with a 18:9 display ratio which is 6-inches in size, this type of display is becoming more common as more devices launched such as Xiaomi Mi Mix 2, Apple iPhone X, Samsung Galaxy S8, Note 8, Google Pixel 2 XL are just some of the v few devices that support the 18:9 ratio display aspect and YouTube has updated its App to suit the wider and bigger smartphone screen.

YouTube’s new pinch to zoom feature will expand the video to fit the device display screen , most video uploaded are produced on a 16:9 aspect which will be soon phrase off as most device launched are giving producers a wider and larger display ratio with full Vision display.

For users with 18:9 display aspect device specification, they will notice that they are able to zoom in their YouTube videos with two fingers and it can also zoom out to fit the entire screen display , this feature gives users a better view for videos uploaded,  it can make use of the  entire smartphone display. The new feature is live on YouTube Google play store app and Apple iOS App store upon update.

YouTube is one of the most popular video consumption sites and social media networks in the world with over 1 billion users. On iOS the YouTube version which is 12.44 comes with a support for iPhone X which also added is the ‘pinch to zoom’ in full screen and other android device and it works just fine.
