Apple Inc. is expected to launch its foldable iPhone come 2023, according to Apple Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo. Kuo has an excellent track record of breaking Apple news, but the foldable iPhone may come longer than some people expected. Kuo stated that the foldable phones have ‘not yet officially kicked off’. This means that the product is still undergoing research, design and development. There are also chances that Apple might cancel the production of the foldable iPhone if its development does not come out as envisaged.

MacRumours has also reported about Apple’s foldable phone expected to launch in 2023, adding that the iPhone could sport a main display between 7.5 to 8 inches. Earlier rumours speculated that the external display of the foldable iPhone might be similar to the size of iPhone 12 Pro Max.

Another feature of the foldable iPhone, supposedly, is that it will have a Clamshell design, just like the Samsung Galaxy 2 Flip. It is also reported that the foldable iPhone will be stylus supported. Currently, the company that would be making the folding displays for Apple is unknown, but reports have it that LG may be working with Apple to design and build the flexible, bendable panels of the foldable iPhone.

There is already a wide variety of foldable smartphones on the market from smartphone makers like Samsung, Motorola, etc, and with this fact being considered, Apple’s set launch in 2023 for it foldable iPhone might seem a little late. We can only hope that the foldable iPhone turns out to be a fascinating device, as is the case with most Apple devices.

As mentioned earlier, Apple’s foldable phone is not expected to be launched soon, so don’t get your hopes up just yet. It even seems that the 2023 launch date mentioned by Apple Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo will be dependent on Apple ability to deal with mass production issues. This might not be too much of a problem for Apple to tackle after all.

Knowing that the foldable iPhone might not come anytime soon, we derive consolation from the iPhone 13 series which the company is expected to announce later this year.
