HTC10: HTC’s Answer to Picture Quality Criticism

This week, HTC unveiled its newest smartphone model, the HTC10, and it didn’t quite make the splash that one might expect. Why? Likely because the tech universe had its eyes turned towards the Facebook F8 conference in San Francisco. Or perhaps it was because the phone didn’t meet the lofty expectations set by some. Regardless, let’s dive into the details of what HTC has in store for us.

The HTC10 is the upgrade to last year’s M9, and the product of a year-long design process that included regular feedback from some members of the public. The company’s motive was simple – to create a smartphone that satisfies public demand whilst staying true to the brand’s identity.

In recent years, HTC has faced criticism for falling short in the camera performance department. As a response, the company has equipped the HTC 10 with a 12-megapixel sensor and a dual-LED flash. The front camera, too, has been upgraded to a 5-megapixel sensor with optically stabilized, f/1.8 wide-angle lens – a first for front-facing cameras according to HTC. These features promise better photo and video quality, as well as top-notch selfies.

The phone is not just a response to criticism, but a showcase of HTC’s finest technologies. Some of its key features include:

– **Dimensions and Weight** – The HTC10 measures 145.9 x 71.9 x 3.0 – 9.0 mm with a weight of 161g. This puts it at a relatively average size and weight in comparison to other smartphones on the market.

– **Platform Android** – The new smartphone comes with Android 6 operating system fitted with the unique HTC Sense skin.

– **Main Camera** – Topped by 1.55μm pixels, the 12MP camera comes with auto and manual control modes, image stabilization and a wide-angle lens.

Other elements worth an honorable mention are its Quad-Core processor, improved battery life of up to 27 hours of 3G/4G talk time, and an impressive 3000mAh capacity.

All these features combine to create a smartphone that HTC believes is fit for today’s technology-savvy consumer. Whether the phone will propel the company back to the top of the competitive smartphone market remains to be seen. After all, at the end of the day, the success of the HTC10 largely hinges on public response.
