Samsung continues to push boundaries by introducing its latest innovation – a sleek, business card-sized, 2TB Solid State Drive (SSD) dubbed SSD T3. This next-generation data storage device is not only compact but also a powerhouse, making it all the more fascinating.

The SSD T3 boasts lightning-fast data transfer speeds of up to 450Mbps, facilitated by the state-of-the-art USB 3.1 (Gen 1) interface which is backward compatible with USB 3.0 and 2.0 ports. Adding an extra layer of security, it also comes with an integrated AES 256-bit encryption.

Below is a detailed overview of the various models and their respective capacities:

Model Name Capacity (GB)
MU-PT250B 250
MU-PT500B 500
MU-PT1T0B 1000
MU-PT2T0B 2000

All models are compatible with USB 3.1(Gen.1, 5Gbps), 3.0, 2.0 interfaces and boast sleek dimensions of 74 x 58 x 10.5 mm. Regardless of the capacity model, each drive weighs 51g and offers a transfer speed of up to 450MB/sec. These drives also support UASP Mode and offer sturdy AES 256-bit hardware encryption.

To protect your precious data, you can set a password. However, this option requires Windows 7 or higher, Mac OS 10.7 or higher and Android KitKat (version 4.4) or higher. Each model has passed numerous globally recognized certifications and offers a 3-year limited warranty.

Of note:

– The actual usable capacity may vary based on system settings.
– The weight may slightly fluctuate depending on each capacity model.
– The performance may vary depending on the user’s host configuration and system environment.

While Samsung hasn’t yet unveiled the pricing of these groundbreaking external drives, it might be relevant to recall that the T1 portable SSD, introduced a year ago, was initially priced around $600. These devices—available in a range of storage capacities—are expected to follow a similar pricing structure, with potentially higher costs for larger storage capacity models.

Samsung’s SSD T3 drives exhibit a remarkable blend of size, speed, and capacity that is sure to revolutionize the way users store and access data. It is fascinating, practical, and indicative of even more groundbreaking tech developments to come from the tech giant. Stay tuned for additional details on these exciting new products as they become available.
