Twitter Rolls Out High-Quality Imagery For Mobile Users

…iOS and Android users can now access the same image resolution as its desktop version.

Twitter’s latest tweak allows its users to share and view high-quality tweets (images) in 4K mode. The social media rolls out this vision effect accessible to iOS and Android mobile user-base entirety.

Meanwhile, the social media desktop version is already developed with this high-resolution tool. Twitter web users can access up to 4096 x 4096 resolution — it supports high-quality images that supersedes the 2048 x 2048 reserved for its mobile version.

In the early days of 2021, Twitter assigned a team to fully develop the resolution of viewing high-quality images on its social media. Nonetheless, they also tested these developments on its mobile version.

The success of the project bolstered its operations in releasing this tool for its users to share and view high-quality images.

“Have a collection of higher-res photos waiting to be shared? We’re testing ways for you to upload and view 4K images on Android and iOS.” Twitter Support notifies its users sharing a tweet about the high-resolution tweet. “If you’re in the test, update your high-quality image preferences in “Data usage settings to get started.”

The social media support team continued to encourage other users on both iOS and Android platforms to utilize their newly tweaked Twitter 4K high-resolution imagery — “update your high-quality image preferences in Data usage settings.”

This tool is now tweaked for Twitter user-base entirety which can be manually enabled in its “Data usage” sub-tab located in Twitter app/web settings.

You can either choose “high-quality image uploads” that supports sharing images in higher resolution or selecting “high-quality images” that supports viewing 4K images.

Twitter released this tool with options that feature’ in either cellular or WiFi networks — seems this tool is likely to consume more browsing data which can be disabled by users choice. This high-quality image setup is closely related to the previous Twitter video playback auto-resolution, which bolsters video quality.
