Google Says It Is Bing’s Most Searched Website

Information is power they say.

At the tip of your finger tip, you can get any information you want by clicking on the web.

The likely site you visit to get your inquiry result is Google.

Yes, Google!

The site is so popular that that it is top most searched site on Microsoft owned Bing.

In an attempt to win the largest antitrust fine ever imposed by the European Union, Alfonso Lamadris, one of the counsels to Google told the EU’s General Court in Luxembourg said the company has submitted evidence that it is the most searched query is Google.

There is a probable chance that the case of Google at the EU may have its own ripple effects, with the information it released going to show it has dominated the tech industry enormously.

The European Union is very much concerned about alleged anti-competition practices by Google, citing an example of when the popular search giant had abused its Android market in different way, like forcing its search engine to be the default search feature on its produced mobile phone operating system.

Google had denied any wrongdoing and was very vocal against the accusation by the EU with thee CEO of Google, Sundar Pichai in 2018 affirming in a blog post titled “Android has created more choice, not less where he posited that Android users still have  the leverage to use other search engines like Bing or Brave ahead of Google.

“The fact that Google swallows more than 90 percent of search engine traffic worldwide, Pichai went on, is only because its users chose Google over those competitors,” according to Gizmodo.

“At the end of the day though, the reason why people often choose Google is because… Google poured a ton of resources into dominating search in the early days of the internet. Back in 2000, the company had already indexed more sites than any other search engine at the time,” Gizmodo added.

Matt Wells, the Gigablast creator Matt Wells had in 2020 told The New York Times that if people are on a search engine with a smaller index, “they’re not always going to get the results they want, and then they go to Google and stay at Google.”

This implies that Google is better option to most users as it has avalanche of options users can tap in and also because it’s the default search engine on Android and Apple operating systems.

This may have made Bing and other search engines struggle in their competition with Google despite having to part way with large investments to stay on course.

“The situation is so absurd, we’re sitting here treating a search engine by Microsoft as some kind of scrappy underdog,” Gizmodo wrote.
