Many who know the Apple Homepod Mini very well, know it’s by its regular white and black (space gray) colors make it cool but maybe not all that cool – if you know what I mean. With Siri still as incredibly social and able to feature on various Apple smart speakers, Apple announced the new look of the Homepod Mini today at its highly anticipated October event, ‘Unleashed’
In addition to white and black (space gray) previously known, HomePod Mini now comes in much more exciting colors of yellow, orange, and blue. Priced at the same $99 as last year’s original Mini. Apple is paying incredible attention and stopping at nothing to catch up and getting ahead of the competition in the smart speaker space. If you know Google’s Nest Mini smart speakers so well, you can tell it comes in colors blue and orange while Amazon’s Echo Dot comes in blue. The Echo Dot Kids Edition comes in absolutely stunning fun animal-themed colors, with the ability to become kiddies’ favorite at first glance.
The new speakers will be available for preorder starting in November. Users will find out that the new colors match with various details of the Homepod Mini Smart Speaker in every aspect, from the tinted touch surface, the fabric mesh, volume icons, and that (non-removable) power cable.
Apple says the Mini Smart Speaker will work with the new Apple Music Voice-only subscription plan, which rolled out at Apple the event. The plan that lets you access music only through Siri can be said to be a cheaper tier of Apple’s music streaming service available at $4.99 per month.
