Whatsapp has made it an everyday thing to be introducing new features to enhance the app generally. The latest features are the Remind Me feature which is currently available on Whatsapp Beta and the Real-Time Voice Chat using Meta AI which is already at the test phase for whatsapp on android devices.

It is said that the WhatsApp for Android functionality allows users to carry on voice conversations using Meta AI in the background.

According to reports, WhatsApp is testing a new feature for Android users that would let them speak with Meta AI in real time. The new artificial intelligence (AI) function, which enables users to either start voice chat directly or switch to it while in the chatbot’s interface, is now being made available to a restricted group of beta testers, according to a feature tracker. According to reports, the real-time audio chat function has continuity capability, allowing users to converse with the AI while WhatsApp is running in the background.

WhatsApp has started testing Meta AI’s voice chat mode with a few beta testers, according to WhatsApp feature tracker WABetaInfo. The most recent WhatsApp beta for Android 2.25.21.21 update included the new feature. The Meta-owned company was still working on this feature when it was originally mentioned in a March report.

The voice mode feature seems to offer a great deal of customization and flexibility, according to screenshots that the feature tracker shared. Entering the chat interface and touching on the waveform symbol allows users to initiate two-way voice chats with Meta AI. As an alternative, they can open the chat interface in voice mode by going to Settings and selecting Voice Preferences. This setting only applies to the conversation tab and is deactivated by default.

Conversely, the Meta AI icon is reported to instantly switch to the waveform icon when a user is on the Call page, and users will automatically start a voice discussion with the chatbot. This was probably done to align it with the features of the Call tab.

Additionally, users will see newly suggested subjects at the centre of the chat screen when in voice chat mode. This was included to assist people in starting a discussion. Additionally, there is a collapse icon on the upper left corner that goes with the voice mode. This allows users to open another app while continuing the conversation by putting the voice chat in the background, similar to collapsing WhatsApp calls with another user.

There are reportedly several ways for WhatsApp users to end voice conversations. They can either go outside of the chat interface or touch the X button at the bottom. As an alternative, they can switch to text-mode by starting to type a message in the text box. Users can always check the call’s notification alert and Android’s microphone alert indication to see if the call is still active.

And on the other hand with respect to the Remind Me feature available on Whatsapp Beta where users of WhatsApp can select from a variety of presets or designate the precise moment at which the chat app should remind them of specific messages.

This also means that users can choose a new “Remind me” option from the popup menu by long pressing on any message. After that, users can select a custom duration, such as two, eight, or twenty-four hours, after which they will receive an alert.

A feature that will enable users to establish message reminders for discussions that have already been read has started testing on WhatsApp. Users can select from a selection of presets or define the precise moment at which WhatsApp should remind them of specific messages on the most recent version of WhatsApp for Android. On iOS and Android, the chat platform owned by Meta already shows reminders to reply to unread messages. A comparable feature, including the option to schedule messages, is already provided by chat services such as Slack.

The messaging service’s new message reminders function will be available to users who have updated to WhatsApp beta for Android 2.25.21.14. To test the new function, beta testers need to tap and hold a message until it is highlighted, then hit the three-dot menu in the top right corner of the screen and choose Remind me.

To show that a reminder has been set, a bell icon displays in the message’s corner. Users see the message content, the discussion in which it appears, and a preview of any related material when the reminder alert is sent.

WhatsApp will provide a new pop-up card with four options for users to choose from when they hit the new Remind me option: In two hours, In eight hours, In twenty-four hours, or Custom. While the custom option lets customers choose the time and date for their SMS reminder, the first three are presets.

After feature tracker WABetaInfo initially saw the Remind me button in the most recent version of WhatsApp beta for Android, Gadgets 360 was able to confirm its existence. Users are also informed by a notice that appears when they set the reminder that only they will receive it—not other chat participants.

WhatsApp uses a tiny bell indicator to show that a reminder is pending if a user sets one for a particular message. When the reminder is due, users will also receive a separate notification from WhatsApp that contains the original message’s contents for convenient access.

Though this new Remind me function may be useful for chats that have previously been read, it’s important to note that WhatsApp currently lets users get reminders for messages they haven’t seen on iOS and Android. Following public beta testing, it is anticipated to be made available to users on the stable update channel.

Also take for example, highlighting a message or taking a screenshot and hoping you’ll remember to return to it is not as convenient or reliable as being able to schedule a reminder about a communication.

According to WABetaInfo, WhatsApp is also testing a feature that would allow users to receive notifications on occasion that emphasize unread messages from the people they connect with the most. Users who oversee several conversations and might have missed the message are intended to be alerted.

Although it’s unclear whether or when the features will be included in a standard WhatsApp update for iOS, we’ll be sure to keep you informed. For now, the capabilities are only available on the Android beta version.
