According to WABetainfo’s report, WhatsApp messenger is currently developing a simplified means to send compressed images or videos in line with the sender preferred choice.

Compressing your media files on WhatsApp comes with three optional choices of preferred media quality, including the quick messenger app’s recommendation “Auto, Best Quality, and Data Saver” — you can either choose your size of compression.

Other social media has reportedly featured compressor in their platforms to displays with three optional media quality. Whatever size you choose determines your data caps or internet speed — Techbooky suggests using minimal media quality which can take a shorter time to complete sending a media file.

WhatsApp is still developing this feature that currently reacts otherwise — for instance, whatever media quality you choose to compress either your image or videos, your recipient is likely to receive the content as a document which contradicts WhatsApp’s profession.

Still, the quick messenger company did not disclose when this feature will be released — but it worth noting that this feature is currently being developed to feature in Android devices.

Still, WABetainfo didn’t mention the iOS platform will feature compressed files on WhatsApp. As expected, iOS will feature WhatsApp’s compressor after Android beta successfully tests this tool when it rolls out.

It worth noting that the media compressor on WhatsApp is expected to bolster the “View Once” that is currently developing to feature on WhatsApp to assist disappearing messages. View Once deletes the media you send immediately after the recipient opens the message.

For instance, sending quick media via View Once with Data Saver depicts WhatsApp users will be prudent with accessing internet data with fair internet speed as well.

However, the media compressor on WhatsApp is added to the list of forthcoming tweaks — the quick messenger suspense campaign, which includes connecting a WhatsApp accounts with multiple devices, and View Once mode.

The multiple device connectivity is the most anticipated of them all, even though View Once  Once supports confidential conversations — Facebook chief executive confirms it will roll out sooner than later.
